Vigo announces programming for International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

The City Council of Vigo has unveiled its programming for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, held under the theme “Against the denial of sexist violence.” The activities, scheduled to take place between November 10 and November 26, include theatrical performances, musical concerts, and educational workshops.

Key events include the play ‘Silencio’ on November 10 and a concert by Yoly Saa on November 12. The Municipal Auditorium will also host screenings of ‘La buena hija’ and the documentary ‘No estás sola. La lucha contra la Manada.’

A significant focus of this year’s program is digital violence. Training sessions titled “Ocupar la palabra, habitar las redes” will be held on November 23 and 24 at the Centro Social Afundación, featuring participation from a United Nations representative. The municipal initiative aims to position Vigo as a reference point in the defense of women’s rights and the fight against the denial of gender-based violence.
