Cultural and film festivals in Cuba

Overview

The Holguín province of Cuba is hosting the 32nd Ibero-American Culture Festival, which features creators from 12 countries, including delegations from Panama, Chile, Colombia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Switzerland. Running until October 30, the event focuses on ancestral cultures and artistic education.

Key activities include a panel discussion on artistic teaching, the IV Meeting of Paper Artists, and the premiere of the documentary ‘Viajero de extraviada ruta’, which explores the life of watercolorist Luis Catalá Maldonado. The program also features photographic exhibitions, musical performances, a metal rock festival, and forums on sociocultural issues such as albinism. This celebration marks the 40th anniversary of the Asociación Hermanos Saíz and the 50th anniversary of the Ministry of Culture.

Concurrently, the 27th French Cinema festival is taking place in Cuba through November 4, showcasing 17 French films across various genres. Additionally, the 52nd Ibero-American Film Festival in Huelva is scheduled for mid-November, featuring music, professional workshops, and a charitable documentary section titled ‘Latidos’.
