Cultural festivals launch in Xàbia and Benitatxell

Various cultural events are taking place in the Valencian region. In Xàbia, the ‘Nit de Sant Bartolomé’ will be held on August 22, featuring over 16,000 candles to illuminate the historic center. The event includes a mass at the Sant Bartolomé church, a candle lighting ceremony, a Hakuma vigil, and several musical performances such as blues, piano, and swing.

In Benitatxell, the second edition of the ‘Literatura a la fresca’ literary festival has launched, accompanied by the ‘Art al carrer’ exhibition. This itinerant pictorial display, provided by the Associació de Dones de Picanya, features 101 works of feminist art displayed on local balconies. Some of the artworks were recovered from mud following the DANA weather event in Picanya, serving as symbols of resilience and reconstruction.
