Cultural festivals scheduled for September 2026 in Greece and Cyprus

Several cultural events are scheduled for September 2026 in Greece and Cyprus. The Cypriot Theatre Week will take place from September 16 to 20 at the Dipylon Theatre in Athens. Organized by the Cyprus Ministry of Culture and the Cyprus International Theatre Institute in collaboration with the National Theatre of Greece, the event features three successful Cypriot productions. Highlights include the production ‘Angelika Nikli Solomou, i Diafani’ by Theatre Lexi and Michalis Papadopoulos’s ‘Poia Evropi?’ (What Europe?), which explores contemporary European values and social issues.

Additionally, the third Piraeus Port Film Festival will be held from September 11 to 13 at the Piraeus Municipal Theatre. The festival’s theme, ‘From the Baltic to the Mediterranean,’ aims to bridge Polish and Greek cinema. The program includes contemporary Greek films, art interventions, and a competitive section for Greek short films that offers monetary prizes to support emerging filmmakers.
