Cultural film events held in Soria and Jerez
Various film screenings are taking place in Spain as part of local cultural initiatives. In Soria, Cines Mercado is hosting three sessions for the ‘First Week of the Image’. As part of the ‘Tu foto es tu entrada’ (Your photo is your entry) initiative, citizens can access screenings by providing a digital photograph to contribute to the ‘Álbum de Soria’, a collective photographic memory project led by the National Center of Photography.
The Soria program includes ‘La Jetée’ by Chris Marker on October 22, ‘Instantánea’ by Catalina Arango Cadavid on October 24, and ‘El fotógrafo de Minamata’ by Andrew Levitas on October 25.
In Jerez, the Ateneo de Jerez and the City Council are concluding the ‘Butaca de Oro’ film cycle with a screening of the Spanish comedy ‘@buelos’, directed by Santiago Requejo. Held at the Sala Compañía, the event is part of the 25th Anniversary of the Week of Older Persons. The film explores themes of unemployment and age-related prejudices through the story of three men attempting to start a business.
