Brazil Ministry of Culture sets deadline for Lei Rouanet 2026 projects
The Brazilian Ministry of Culture (MinC) has announced that the deadline for submitting cultural project proposals for the 2026 Lei Rouanet cycle is this Saturday, October 31. Officials have stated there will be no extensions and are urging artists, producers, and organizations to submit their applications via the Salic system well in advance to avoid potential technical delays caused by high traffic volumes.
New procedural changes have been implemented regarding project bank accounts. Accounts will now be opened on the same day the initial approval ordinance is published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU). If inconsistencies arise during the account opening process, the Salic system will notify the proponent, who will then have 30 days to correct the data.
In addition to the federal Lei Rouanet cycle, other regional cultural initiatives are active. In Amazonas, a public consultation for the third cycle of the National Aldir Blanc Policy (PNAB) is concluding, allowing stakeholders to influence resource allocation for the state. Meanwhile, in São Paulo, Paço das Artes has opened applications for its 2027 Project Season, seeking to support emerging contemporary art and curatorial proposals.
