Budapest to host Fecskehajtó Festival blending tradition and contemporary art

The Fecskehajtó Festival, a new two-day multidisciplinary arts event, will take place this autumn in Budapest. Organized by Hagyományok Háza, the festival serves as a joint celebration of the 25th anniversary of the institution and the 75th anniversary of the Magyar Állami Népi Együttes.

Scheduled for September 25 and 26, the event will be centered around the Budai Vigadó and surrounding streets in the first district. The program aims to blend tradition with contemporary culture, featuring music, dance, lectures, exhibitions, and workshops. Highlights include the Naplegenda dance production by the Magyar Állami Népi Együttes and concerts by the Magyar Banda. The festival is designed to showcase the folk art of the Carpathian Basin and European folklore through interactive programs suitable for all ages.
