Cultural heritage restoration projects underway in Maracaibo and Tucumán

In Maracaibo, Venezuela, the rehabilitation and modernization of the historic Alejandro Borges stadium are entering their final stages. Driven by the Maracaibo Mayor's Office, the project aims to transform the venue into a cultural and tourist hub through the opening of the Luis Aparicio Montiel Museum.

The museum will feature high-end finishes inspired by the Hall of Fame in the United States and will house approximately 270 historical pieces. Notable items include a sculpture of Luis Aparicio Montiel’s hand, Eugenio Pirela’s 1968 Gold Glove, and relics from the 1966 Baltimore Orioles world championship team. Additionally, a pedestrian boulevard will be constructed to honor ten emblematic athletes from the Zulia state.

In Tucumán, Argentina, the provincial government is progressing with the restoration and refurbishment of the Archivo General de la Provincia. The project, supervised by Minister of Public Works Marcelo Nazur and Government Secretary Raúl Albarracín, focuses on preserving documentary memory and improving working conditions for staff. The interventions aim to enhance service efficiency for citizens while safeguarding the building's historical and patrimonial value.
