San Luis Potosí Governor Ricardo Gallardo Praises Guardia Nacional on Anniversary

Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona of San Luis Potosí highlighted the permanent coordination between the state and the federal Guardia Nacional during the force’s seventh anniversary ceremony on 30 June. He credited the joint effort of the Guardia Nacional, the State Civil Guard, the Mexican Army (SEDENA), the state and federal prosecutors and municipal authorities for delivering an 81 percent drop in intentional homicides during the first five months of 2026, the largest reduction nationwide.

Gallardo presented awards to the most distinguished members of the Guardia Nacional and stressed that the security strategy is fostering historic peace, crime prevention and the attraction of national and foreign investment to the state’s four regions, creating new jobs for local families.
