Cultural summer festivals continue across Crete and Aktio-Vonitsa

Various cultural summer festivals are continuing across Crete and the Aktio-Vonitsa region in Greece.

In Platanias, the 16th Earth-Culture-Tourism Festival features a musical theater performance titled ‘Parastasis Periopis’ on August 26. The show, performed by Pantelis Ampazis and Gerasimos Gennatas alongside the group ‘Anotati Zappetiki’, blends music, comedy, and satire, paying tribute to legendary Greek composers such as Mikis Theodorakis and Manos Hadjidakis.

Simultaneously, the Municipality of Aktio-Vonitsa is hosting a series of community events. The schedule includes a children's cinema screening in Paliamvela on August 23, a shadow theater and Karagiozis performance in Katouna on August 26, and a book presentation in Palaeiros on August 29 regarding a geological and mythological approach to Homeric Ithaca. The summer program concludes with a color party in Vonitsa on September 1.
