Cultural traditions celebrated through reunions and festivals in Turkey
Various cultural and community gatherings were held in Turkey's Black Sea region, celebrating local traditions and family ties.
In Gümüşhane, approximately 300 members of the Tataroğulları family gathered for their second annual traditional reunion at Dursun Yakut’s Çayırı. The event brought together three generations of relatives from different cities to strengthen kinship bonds and share family history. Bahçeli Mayor Çetin Rıza Tanış attended the event to meet with family members.
In Trabzon, the 28th annual Traditional Kayabaşı Karaabdal Highland Festival took place in Akçaabat. The celebration focused on preserving Black Sea plateau culture through folk dances, such as the horon, and local musical performances. Akçaabat Mayor Osman Nuri Ekim participated in the festivities, emphasizing the importance of highland festivals in passing cultural heritage to younger generations.
