Cultural traditions preserved through culinary and craft events in Croatia and Slovenia

Cultural heritage events were held in Croatia and Slovenia to preserve traditional customs and culinary practices.

In Zagreb, the Macedonian National Minority Council of the City of Zagreb and the Macedonian Orthodox Church in Croatia organized a gastro evening at the St. Zlata Meglenska Macedonian Orthodox Church. Featuring professional chef Marin Cvetanovski, the event aimed to preserve authentic Macedonian dishes as a vital part of national identity. The gathering coincided with celebrations for the 35th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Macedonia.

In Slovenia, members of the Lükari Tourist Ethnographic Society at Dornava Castle demonstrated traditional onion braiding techniques. Participants, including younger generations, engaged in the cultivation, harvesting, and processing of herbs to create products such as oils, creams, and teas. These activities focus on passing down ancestral knowledge and connecting people through nature and traditional craftsmanship.
