Cummins Brasil unveils lighter exhaust after-treatment system
Cummins Brasil has introduced a new generation of its Single Module exhaust gas after-treatment system at Fenatran 2026. Designed for four-cylinder commercial vehicle engines, specifically the Cummins F3.8 and F4.5 models, the system aims to meet Proconve P8 requirements, which are equivalent to Euro VI standards.
The new system is 30% lighter and 2% more efficient than its predecessor. It features advancements in gas mixing, electronics, and sensors, and incorporates proprietary UL2.2 urea dosing technology.
The development involved extensive local validation in Brazil, including over 7,000 hours of dynamometer testing and 600,000 kilometers of vehicle engineering validation. The system is specifically engineered to handle Brazilian fuel compositions, including biodiesel blends of up to B20, through specialized catalyst adjustments.
