Cummins engine and exhaust technology updates in Brazil

Overview

At the Fenatran 2026 exhibition in São Paulo, Cummins introduced several technological advancements for the Brazilian commercial vehicle market. The company unveiled a new generation of its Single Module exhaust gas after-treatment system for F3.8 and F4.5 engines. This system is 30% lighter, 5% smaller, and 2% more efficient than previous models, utilizing UL2.2 urea dosing technology to meet Proconve P8 standards.

Alongside the exhaust systems, Cummins presented updated engine solutions. The new F4.5 engine provides up to 240 cv, representing a 14% increase in maximum power and an estimated 9% reduction in fuel consumption. Additionally, the F3.0 engine was introduced to improve performance and operational costs for light commercial vehicles. These engine configurations have been adapted to remain compatible with Brazilian fuel compositions, including B20 biodiesel blends.
