Cupra Raval electric hatchback secures over 70,000 European orders
The Cupra Raval, a compact electric hatchback from Cupra (SEAT's sport sub‑brand), has become the Volkswagen Group’s breakout model in 2026. Orders for the entry‑level EV family – ID. Polo, ID. Cross, Skoda Epiq and the Raval – topped 70,000 across Europe within three months, far exceeding the 25,000‑unit target per model.
CEO Markus Haupt reported a €122 million operating profit, €84 million higher than the previous year, and said the Raval doubled its order forecast, driving an 85 % rise in Cupra’s EV orders in Q2. The surge has shifted the sales balance within the group, with Cupra overtaking its parent Seat in the B‑segment, while internal concerns about platform cannibalisation have been raised.
The strong demand positions the Raval as the most successful launch for Cupra, reinforcing the brand’s growth strategy in the competitive European electric‑vehicle market.
