Cura Mori district in Peru faces surge in thefts and robberies

A series of robberies in the rural district of Cura Mori, Peru, has heightened insecurity among farmers and residents. In the hamlet of Buenos Aires, thieves broke into farmer Alejandro Vílchez’s property and stole 26 sacks of rice, causing a significant economic loss. In Pozo de Los Ramos, criminals stole several donkeys belonging to farmer Esther Castro, disrupting her agricultural operations. The wave of crime also reached homes, with a burglary in Ciudad de Dios where a resident’s television and printer were taken.

Local inhabitants are demanding increased police presence and stronger surveillance measures to prevent further incidents and protect their livelihoods.
