Acre launches Sinesp SOS panic button app for emergency response
The Military Police of Acre (PMAC) has launched the Sinesp SOS application, featuring a panic button designed to expedite emergency responses. The tool is initially restricted to women with urgent protective measures against domestic violence and schools enrolled in the Escola Segura project. When activated, the alert is sent with high priority to the Dispatch and Service Center, utilizing location data to direct police units to the scene.
In other regional developments, the Public Ministry of the Federal District and Territories (MPDFT) requested the dismissal of investigations against a civil police officer involved in a dispute with military police during a checkpoint in Paranoá. The MPDFT noted that the military officers' conduct, which included authoritative language and threats, may constitute abuse of authority and should be evaluated by Military Justice.
In Curitiba, the Military Police are investigating two officers filmed assaulting a man in the city center. The footage shows the individual being kicked and having a boot pressed against his head while handcuffed. The OAB Paraná has denounced the incident as a potential human rights violation, while the police stated the intervention followed a report of drug trafficking and noise disturbance.
