Cursor launches Origin code hosting service in early beta
Cursor has launched ‘Origin’, an early beta code hosting service designed to integrate AI agents directly into the development and review workflow. Unlike traditional hosting, Origin is built to support agent-driven development, allowing AI agents to inspect code, modify files, and update pull requests within the repository environment.
Origin features real-time synchronization with GitHub. While teams can import repositories from GitHub organizations, GitHub remains the ‘source of truth’ for these projects. Pull request activities, including comments, replies, and reactions, synchronize between Origin and GitHub within seconds, enabling developers to manage reviews without leaving the Cursor interface.
The service is currently available to users on Pro, Teams, and Enterprise plans, though free tier users are excluded. Enterprise administrators have the option to opt out of the feature. For deployment and continuous integration, Origin supports connections to Vercel for preview deployments, as well as Depot and Buildkite for running workflows and pipelines.
