Cursor AI service expansion and product launches
Overview
AI coding startup Cursor has expanded its service offerings through localized pricing and new platform features.
In late July 2026, the company introduced ‘Cursor Start’ in India, a low-cost subscription priced at 649 rupees per month. This plan utilizes Cursor’s own AI models, Composer 2.5 and Grok 4.5, to maintain affordability by omitting frontier models from OpenAI and Anthropic. The move aims to scale within India, which has become Cursor’s third-largest market with over three million developers.
By mid-August 2026, Cursor launched ‘Origin’ in early beta. Origin is a code hosting service designed to integrate AI agents directly into development and review workflows. The service allows AI agents to inspect code and update pull requests, featuring real-time synchronization with GitHub. While GitHub remains the ‘source of truth’, Origin enables developers to manage reviews within the Cursor interface. The service is currently available to Pro, Teams, and Enterprise plan users.
