Cusco Region Launches S/29 Million UGEL Espinar School Headquarters Project

The regional government of Cusco has begun construction of a new headquarters for the local education authority (UGEL) in Espinar. The project, valued at over S/29 million and financed through the Obras por Impuestos mechanism, will add modern administrative offices, multipurpose spaces, recreation areas, perimeter fencing and complementary works, along with new equipment and furniture for all units.

Governor Werner Salcedo Álvarez signed the land‑transfer act, emphasizing that the investment will “build opportunities for thousands of girls and boys” and help reduce regional disparities. The development is expected to strengthen educational planning, resource management and overall service quality for students, teachers and families in Espinar.

The ceremony also included Vice Governor Noely Loaiza Livano, regional councilors, UGEL representatives and private‑sector participants, underscoring a coordinated effort between public authorities and businesses to accelerate strategic investments in education.
