Lovech drug seizure: Over 200 kg of narcotics found in meat trucks

Bulgarian authorities have seized over 200 kg of narcotics hidden in two refrigerated trucks transporting raw meat to a meat processing plant in Lovech. The operation, conducted by the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GDBOP) and the Customs Agency, targeted vehicles registered in Pazardzhik.

In the first truck, investigators discovered 204 packages of cannabis, each weighing over one kilogram, concealed in a specially constructed compartment in the roof of the trailer. The second truck contained several packages of cocaine hidden among legal cargo on a pallet.

Two Bulgarian drivers have been arrested and face charges for the possession and distribution of high-risk narcotic substances. The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the Lovech District Prosecutor's Office to determine the involvement of the transport companies and other potential accomplices.
