Cutter Gauthier rejects $52 million contract offer from Anaheim Ducks

Gauthier, who led the team with 41 goals and 69 points last season, is seeking a higher valuation. Reports suggest his camp may be looking for figures in the $16 million to $17 million range, potentially citing recent high-value deals for other young stars like Leo Carlsson and Macklin Celebrini.

The negotiation puts Ducks General Manager Pat Verbeek in a difficult position. Following the decision to match an $18 million annual offer sheet for Leo Carlsson, the team is projected to have only approximately $9 million in available salary cap space.
