Villa Bosch students protest AI-generated nude image scandal

Students and parents in Villa Bosch, Argentina, have protested at the Instituto Pío XII Leonardo Murialdo following allegations that classmates used artificial intelligence to create and sell nude images of female students. The victims, aged 13 to 14, reported that the AI-generated images were created from real photos and used for harassment, defamation, and extortion. Families have criticized the school's response, noting that authorities only changed classroom shifts or offered psychological counseling rather than expelling the accused.

Similar incidents have been reported in other Argentine institutions, including Colegio Modelo Lomas in Lomas de Zamora and Colegio Thomas Alva Edison in Ituzaingó. In a separate case in Río Tercero, Córdoba, authorities conducted raids on the homes of several adolescents following reports that they used AI to generate intimate images of schoolmates. Police seized electronic devices as part of an ongoing investigation led by the Fiscalía de Fuero Múltiple N° 2.
