Cyberpunk 2077 receives new immersive third-person mod
A new third-person perspective mod for Cyberpunk 2077, developed by CybrDrake, is providing players with a more immersive experience on PC. Unlike previous attempts to unlock the camera view, which often resulted in awkward or unnatural character movements, this mod introduces entirely separate animation sets specifically designed for a third-person view.
The mod features significant work on the female version of the protagonist, V, with many animations rebuilt from the ground up to ensure natural movement. The male version of V currently utilizes corrections to existing animations, though further updates are planned. The system allows players to switch between perspectives at any time, and includes an automatic camera switching feature that returns to the original first-person view during specific gameplay sequences such as combat, driving, cutscenes, and terminal usage.
Content creators, including YouTuber BleeeGMV, have demonstrated the mod's capabilities, showcasing improved jogging, stair climbing, and idle animations that avoid the 'janky' appearance of earlier community efforts. The mod requires the Phantom Liberty expansion and certain additional tools to function.
