Cybersecurity risks drive focus on OT protection and insurance

The increasing connectivity between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) is creating unique security challenges. In industrial environments, risks in OT and IoT extend beyond data loss to include physical safety, production capacity, and revenue. Unlike standard IT environments where systems can be easily rebooted or isolated, OT environments require specialized controls, such as network segmentation and access management that respects industrial routines, to avoid disrupting physical processes.

In response to rising digital threats, Abrapp, in partnership with Apoena Soluções em Seguros, is promoting cyber insurance specifically for the closed supplementary pension fund segment (EFPC). This initiative aims to protect organizations against data breaches, digital fraud, and system unavailability, which can lead to civil liability and loss of public trust. The topic will be further discussed at the 47th Abrapp Congress, featuring experts from AXA Seguros and Previ Ericsson.
