Cycling transfer market sees Ganna interest and multiple renewals
The professional cycling transfer market is seeing significant movement, highlighted by potential high-profile shifts and several contract renewals. Italian rider Filippo Ganna is reportedly considering leaving Netcompany INEOS, despite having a contract through 2027. Lidl-Trek is said to be in accelerated discussions to secure the world-class time trialist for 2027, which would require Ganna to break his current agreement.
Other notable activity includes several contract extensions. In the women’s WorldTour, Urška Žigart has renewed with AG Insurance - Soudal Team until 2029. Uno-X Mobility has secured Markus Hoelgaard and William Blume Levy through 2028 and 2027, respectively. Additionally, the NSN Cycling Team has extended the contracts of Corbin Strong, George Bennett, and Dion Smith. In a unique development, Óscar Sevilla has renewed with Team Medellín - EPM, continuing his professional career at age 50.
