Andrés Blaquier murder: Two minors sentenced to 15 years

Two teenagers have been sentenced to 15 years in prison for the 2022 murder of businessman Andrés Blaquier. The sentencing was issued by the Juzgado de Responsabilidad Penal Juvenil 1 of San Isidro, representing the maximum penalty allowed under the current juvenile criminal regime.

The crime occurred on October 29, 2022, on the Panamericana highway near Pilar. Blaquier and his wife were intercepted by two individuals on a stolen motorcycle. During the robbery, one of the assailants shot Blaquier in the chest, leading to his death, while his wife sustained injuries after falling onto the asphalt. The attackers fled with the victim's motorcycle.

The legal counsel for the victim's family expressed dissatisfaction with the ruling, noting that the 15-year sentence is the maximum cap for minors regardless of the severity of the crime. The family intends to ensure the sentence is executed without the possibility of early parole or temporary release.
