Cyclists injured in separate Dutch traffic accidents
Two separate traffic accidents involving cyclists occurred in the Netherlands on October 21 and 22.
In Weert, a man riding a fatbike was seriously injured on Thursday morning near the Wilhelminasingel. A delivery van struck the cyclist, causing him to fall, and subsequently drove over the bike. The victim was transported to a hospital by ambulance. Police closed the intersection at Driesveldlaan to manage the scene and conduct an inspection.
In Waalwijk, a woman on a bicycle was involved in a collision with a car on Reigerbosweg on Wednesday morning. Preliminary investigations suggest that fogged-up car windows may have prevented the driver from seeing the cyclist as she crossed the path. Police documented the condition of the vehicle's windows as part of their investigation, and medical personnel examined the cyclist at the scene.
