Cyprus Consumer Protection Service warns of 97 dangerous products

The Cyprus Consumer Protection Service has issued warnings regarding 97 products identified as posing risks to consumer health and safety. These products were flagged through the Safety Gate system, which serves as the single point of contact in Cyprus for such alerts. The products were originally detected in the markets of various European Union member states.

To facilitate inspections within the Cypriot market, the 97 products have been distributed among various competent government authorities. This includes 21 products assigned to the Consumer Protection Service, 36 to the Electromechanical Services Department, 15 to the Labour Inspection Department, 10 to the Road Transport Department, 7 to the Pharmaceutical Services Department, 5 to the Health Services, and 3 to the Department of Environment.

Consumers are advised to visit the Safety Gate website, which is available in Greek, to search for specific products and obtain information to avoid their use. Economic operators in possession of these products are urged to notify the relevant authorities immediately. Consumers who own these items are advised to stop using them, return them to the place of purchase, and inform the appropriate authorities.
