Cyprus Council of Ministers to review dividend income proposal

The Cyprus Council of Ministers is expected to review a proposal regarding the treatment of dividend income within the coming days. Marinos Mousiouttas, the Minister of Labour and Social Insurance, confirmed that while current recommendations include provisions for dividends, no final decision has been reached.

Mousiouttas emphasized that the Ministry remains open to making corrections if the overall impact of the proposal requires adjustment. He noted that the official government position will only be established after the Council of Ministers examines the proposals.

Regarding broader social security reforms, the Minister stated that under the Ministry's proposals, all pensions will increase and no individual will receive less than they currently do. Additionally, the low-pensioner allowance is set to rise. The stated goal of these measures is to ensure the long-term sustainability of both the Social Insurance Fund and public finances for current and future generations.
