Cyprus hosts cultural decentralization programs in September

The Cultural Decentralization Program 2026 is bringing a variety of artistic activities to rural communities across Cyprus throughout September. Organized by the Department of Contemporary Culture, the initiative includes music, theater, poetry, visual arts, and workshops designed to transform rural villages into spaces for creative participation. Notable events include a tribute to Aliki Vougiouklaki in Pano Platres on September 2 and a musical performance honoring Alekos Sakellarios in Perifereiako Dimotiko Scholeio on September 3.

Additionally, the Municipality of Jeroskipou is hosting the ‘Ierokipia 2026’ festival, featuring four nights of cultural programming. The schedule includes a musical performance titled ‘We Sing Our Poets’ on September 11, a theatrical production by Juan Carlos Rubio on September 16, and a classical percussion concert by the Cyprus Percussion Group on September 20. The festival concludes on September 25 at the Aliathon Resort in celebration of World Tourism Day.
