Cyprus increases disability benefits under new social reform law

The Government of Cyprus is implementing significant increases in social benefits for persons with disabilities under the 2026 Law on Social Participation, Inclusion, and Independent Living. An additional €106 million has been secured for the 2026-2028 period to fund these reforms.

Key adjustments include: - For children with disabilities (up to 18 years), monthly benefits increase by €87, rising from €848 to €935. - For adults (18-65 years) and seniors (over 65), monthly benefits increase by €37, rising from €368 to €405. - Home care allowances will increase by 10%. - Mobility allowances have increased to €100 or €200 per month, depending on previous rates. - Specific increases of up to €110 per month apply to blind individuals and those with severe motor disabilities, such as paraplegia or quadriplegia.

Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letypieris stated that these increases will be paid automatically to existing beneficiaries without the need for new applications. The next major payment date is scheduled for August 28, 2026.
