Cyprus police arrest 13 people in night‑time crackdown

Police in Cyprus carried out extensive preventive operations throughout the night, stopping 600 vehicles and checking the occupants of 973 of them. The actions resulted in the arrest of 13 individuals on charges that included illegal drug possession, unlawful employment and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Additional enforcement measures comprised 59 spot checks at premises, 317 traffic‑related violations logged (including 103 speeding offenses), the seizure of 10 vehicles, 304 alcohol tests that generated 21 citations, and two preliminary drug tests that returned positive results.
