Cyprus Police conduct widespread overnight crime prevention operations

The Cyprus Police conducted extensive overnight preventive operations across the island to maintain public order and increase community safety. These organized patrols targeted key urban areas and resulted in numerous arrests and citations.

Reports indicate that between 6 and 14 individuals were arrested for various offenses, including illegal drug possession, illegal stay in the Republic, traffic offenses, and public disturbance. Police also conducted hundreds of alcohol tests and drug tests, with several positive results for narcotics.

These checks led to hundreds of traffic violations, specifically regarding speeding, and resulted in the impounding of multiple vehicles.
