Cyprus police conduct widespread operations and arrests

Police in Cyprus conducted extensive operations across the island, resulting in multiple arrests and numerous citations. In Famagusta, one individual was arrested in connection with two separate fires in the Anadolu neighborhood that damaged crops and property. Additionally, three people were detained for public disturbance and intoxication.

In Kyrenia, authorities took legal action against six entertainment venues for violations including operating without music permits and failing to adhere to closing hours. Law enforcement also arrested an individual for residing in the country without legal status.

Nationwide, organized patrols led to eight arrests for various offenses such as theft, intoxication, illegal residence, and outstanding warrants. During these operations, police inspected 375 vehicles and 518 occupants. Traffic enforcement resulted in 240 citations, including 95 for speeding, seven for driving under the influence of alcohol, and two cases involving drugs. Eight vehicles were also impounded.
