Cyprus Police conduct overnight patrols resulting in 10 arrests
The Cyprus Police conducted organized overnight patrols across urban areas to prevent serious crime and ensure public order. The operations resulted in the arrest of ten individuals for various offenses, including vehicle theft, shoplifting, theft, and traffic crimes.
During the patrols, authorities stopped 596 vehicles and inspected 901 occupants. Traffic enforcement led to 363 citations, with 157 specifically for speeding, and eight vehicles were impounded. Additionally, police conducted 233 alcohol tests, resulting in 15 citations, and five preliminary drug tests, two of which returned positive results.
Officers also inspected 47 establishments to address delinquency, leading to seven complaints. The police stated that these targeted operations and increased presence are part of ongoing daily efforts to enhance public safety and protect citizens.
