Cyprus police deliver 13,000 fines; Singapore charges eight heavy‑vehicle speeders

Cyprus police have begun enforcing a new "photoradar" list, delivering 13,000 outstanding speed‑camera fines within the first 20 days. Drivers with multiple unpaid fines can now be stopped at roadblocks, police stations and eventually during routine traffic checks, with on‑the‑spot payment options. The police warned that unresolved fines may be referred to court and could lead to licence loss.

In Singapore, eight heavy‑vehicle drivers are set to appear in court for speeding offences committed between December 2025 and March 2026. The cases involve buses, trucks and a prime mover that exceeded speed limits of 60 km/h, some reaching 81 km/h. Offenders face fines up to S$1,000, up to three months’ jail and possible driving disqualification. Police highlighted the heightened danger of speeding heavy vehicles and reminded owners of upcoming mandatory speed‑limiter requirements.
