Cyprus police intensify overnight patrols after burglary arrests
Cyprus police intensified overnight patrols across the island as part of an ongoing crime-prevention drive. In Protaras, two suspects—aged 30 and 51—were arrested in connection with burglary and theft investigations; police said they were identified and arrested yesterday afternoon at Paphos airport as they departed Cyprus: 'The two suspects were identified and arrested yesterday afternoon at Paphos airport, upon their departure from Cyprus.'
The nationwide effort also involved checks on motorists and premises. Officials reported 468 vehicles were stopped for checks and 581 drivers and passengers were inspected, while 45 premises checks were carried out; authorities said there were no violations reported.
