Cyprus police night patrols result in 10 arrests and 106 speed‑limit citations

The Cyprus Police carried out coordinated night‑time patrols across the island, stopping 525 vehicles and checking the 681 occupants. In addition, 45 targeted inspections were conducted at premises and 293 traffic‑related citations were issued during the operation.

The actions led to the arrest of ten individuals for offences such as illegal drug possession, illegal stay, assault and traffic violations. Police also recorded 106 speed‑limit breaches, opened 15 traffic‑violation investigations, seized 13 vehicles, performed 165 alcohol tests (resulting in eight citations) and conducted five preliminary drug tests, one of which was positive.
