Cyprus police operations lead to ten arrests and numerous traffic checks

The Cyprus Police carried out intensive night‑time patrols across the island, focusing on high‑risk urban areas to deter serious crime and maintain public order. The operations resulted in the arrest of ten individuals on charges that included possession of narcotics, burglary, illegal possession of property and illegal residence.

During the same period, 684 vehicles were stopped and 849 drivers and passengers were examined. Police also performed 56 checks on undocumented migrants, generating six reports, and conducted 370 traffic violation checks, of which 63 involved speeding. Alcohol testing covered 294 drivers with 30 positive results, while preliminary drug tests were carried out on 11 persons, three of whom tested positive. Additionally, 18 vehicles were seized as part of the broader crime‑prevention effort.
