Cyprus police probe €9.8 million jewelry disappearance in Limassol

A 57‑year‑old jeweler in Limassol handed a large consignment of gold and valuable jewellery worth more than €9.8 million to a 54‑year‑old associate on 6 June, intending that the partner would sell the items and return them. The two men signed a written agreement specifying that the jewellery would be handed back on the afternoon of 8 June.

When the appointed time arrived, the 54‑year‑old partner failed to appear. After repeated attempts to contact him proved unsuccessful, the businessman filed a police complaint. The Limassol police department has launched an investigation, seeking the missing associate and examining all circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the high‑value jewellery.

Authorities describe the case as a serious matter and are collecting evidence to locate the suspect and recover the missing items.
