Cyprus police seize weapons, explosives and drugs in Larnaca raid
Police in Larnaca, Cyprus, carried out a raid on the home and vehicles of a 57‑year‑old resident of a village in the Larnaca district. The operation, coordinated by the Larnaca police department (TAE) together with the Information Management and Analysis Service (UDAP) and the Crime Prevention Unit (UKAN), resulted in the seizure of a firearm, seven full ammunition cartridges, improvised explosive devices, gunpowder, approximately 210 g of cannabis, about 70 g of cocaine, roughly 5 g of cannabis resin, two packs of cannabidol, two precision scales and around €40,000 in cash. The suspect is expected to appear before the Larnaca Provincial Court for a detention order. Police said the detection of the illegal and dangerous items "contributes to the prevention and deterrence of future criminal activity."
