Cyprus Police stop 570 vehicles, check 760 people in night operation

Police carried out intensive night patrols across Cyprus, targeting key urban areas to prevent serious crime and maintain public order. The operation resulted in the stopping of 570 vehicles and the checking of 760 occupants.

Officers made four arrests for offenses including illegal drug possession and traffic violations. They seized 14 vehicles, conducted 49 substance‑related checks that generated seven complaints, and recorded 351 traffic‑related complaints – 75 for speeding, two for driving under the influence of alcohol and three for drug‑impaired driving. Additional checks included 126 alcohol tests and 12 drug tests on drivers.
