Cyprus President Nicos Christodoulides Unveils Infrastructure and Job Projects
President Nicos Christodoulides visited the community of Eurýcho and outlined a series of investments aimed at boosting employment and public services in Cyprus. He announced a €500,000 road‑paving programme for 2026‑27, a €500,000 industrial zone to attract new businesses, a €5,000 grant from the KOA, the completion of upgrades to the Soléa school football field, and the construction of a closed‑room facility for a 24‑hour adult‑care centre. Additional funding will be directed to modernise the local medical centre.
Christodoulides also addressed preparations for an expanded conference involving the European Union. He said pre‑negotiation work has begun after a meeting with a senior EU official, referred to as “Mr Fito”, and that a national council will be convened to resume talks that were previously halted. The president stressed that the EU’s role and the “Euro‑Turkish” issues will be part of the forthcoming discussions.
