Czech celebrities reflect on complex relationship histories

Czech public figures have shared reflections on the origins of their long-term relationships and the personal complexities involved.

Singer Martin Chodúr recalled how he met his partner, entrepreneur Ivona Selníková, shortly after winning the first Czechoslovak SuperStar. At the time, Chodúr was 20 years old and Selníková was 36. Their meeting occurred at a company ball in Ostrava where a private plane was arranged for Chodúr. Despite public criticism regarding their age difference and Selníková's marital status at the time, the couple remained together and is now raising a ten-year-old son.

Actress Ivana Chýlková and presenter Jan Kraus also reflected on their history. The pair met during the filming of the movie Trio in 1994. Their relationship emerged while Chýlková was with actor Karel Roden and Kraus was married to Jana Krausová. The transition was noted for being handled without significant family conflict, as the parties involved maintained contact to prioritize their children.
