Czech cities complete new public recreational and playground projects

Several urban revitalization projects for public recreational spaces have been completed in the Czech Republic.

In Brno, a popular children's playground at Obilní trh near the central maternity hospital has reopened following a reconstruction costing over eight million CZK. The updated area features an expanded playing surface, new elements such as a climbing wall, slides, sandpits, and swings, as well as improved furniture and drinking fountains. Local officials noted the project was designed to accommodate higher capacity demands and cater to various age groups.

In Prague, the Praha 7 district has opened ‘Spot Holešovice,’ a multi-purpose space designed for sports and leisure. The area includes an adventure playground where children can interact with various materials to create their own structures, alongside a sports zone featuring basketball hoops, a football arena, a U-ramp, workout equipment, and ping-pong tables. The project aimed to transform a previously neglected area into a functional public space through collaboration with local schools and community organizations.
