Czech cities expand public transport services

Public transportation services are expanding in two Czech cities. In České Budějovice, bus line 12 will be extended to Švábův Hrádek starting next year. This extension aims to provide regular transit to a previously underserved area, connecting it with the Máj district and the city center. The annual cost for this extension is estimated at approximately eight million CZK.

In Prague, the new express bus line 145, referred to as a ‘tunnel bus’, has completed its first month of operation without significant complications. The line utilizes the City Ring tunnels to provide a rapid connection between Prague 6 and Prague 8 or 9. Despite years of debate regarding driver availability, funding, and technical feasibility, the service is reportedly meeting passenger expectations.
