Czech cities host mobility events for International Car Free Day

Various Czech cities are hosting events for International Car Free Day to promote urban mobility and public transportation alternatives.

In Zlín, Otrokovice, and Želechovice nad Dřevnicí, public transport will be free of charge on Tuesday, September 22. To facilitate this, DSZO officials stated that ticket inspectors will not be conducting checks, drivers will not sell tickets, and the SMS ticket system will be suspended. Electronic displays and onboard LCD screens will provide travel information, while validators will operate in a special mode to allow for the checking of time coupons or registration of new carriers.

Příbram is celebrating its fifth City Mobility Day with a diverse program. The event includes free public transport, rides on historical Karosa ŠL 11 and Škoda 706 RTO CAR buses, and a historical train service featuring the M 240.028 locomotive. Additionally, visitors can experience a historical rail draisine from 1897 and participate in activities at a children's traffic playground. The initiative aims to encourage residents to consider alternatives to individual car travel.
