Czech cities impose water pipe repairs causing outages and traffic delays

Prague utilities announced scheduled water supply interruptions for the week of 23‑26 June affecting multiple districts, including Vinohrady, Ďáblice, Vokovice, Řepy, Horní Počernice, Běchovice, Libeň, Záběhlice, Hloubětín and Chodov. Specific streets and parcels are listed with outage times ranging from early morning until late afternoon.

In Brno, reconstruction of a historic water main on Fryčajova Street in the Obřany district will enter a "semaphore" phase from 22 June. Traffic at the Fryčajova‑Mlýnské nábřeží junction will be controlled by traffic lights, with possible red‑light waits of up to 15 minutes while excavations up to four metres deep are carried out. The work, scheduled to last until the end of October, includes a two‑year overall project, temporary detours, and a new parking area for affected residents.

Both municipalities have urged drivers to use “reasonable” travel volumes and follow signage to minimise disruption.
