Czech Republic summer roadworks disrupt traffic nationwide

The Czech road authority continues extensive summer repairs. In the Zlín region, work on highway D55 and road I/49 will finish by early August, with a one‑way entry to Zašová remaining until 3 August.

In Prague, a failure on metro line C has led to a replacement bus service that is being delayed by private cars blocking a dedicated lane, causing up to seven‑minute waits; police are tasked with enforcing the lane rules.

Uherskohradiště Hospital is rebuilding its main entrance, closing the primary driveway and routing vehicles along a marked detour until the end of the summer holidays to improve safety and parking flow.

Major summer repairs on the I/46 route between Olomouc and Šternberk will divert traffic through surrounding villages for the season, while drivers in Jihlava face multiple road closures. In Strakonic, traffic changes are linked to the modernization of a local heat plant.

All these projects create temporary detours, lane restrictions and increased monitoring to keep traffic moving while the works progress.
